New technologies

The Bureau for Forest Management and Geodesy develops and implements modern technological solutions that are then used to carry out the company's tasks. At the beginning of the twenty-first century, we were one of the first companies in Poland to intensively implement numerical maps and GPS receivers.

In recent years, methods of obtaining data on the characteristics of individual trees and entire stands based on the analysis of point clouds from airborne laser scanning (LIDAR) have been dynamically developed. Development work is currently underway on the analysis of the possibility of obtaining data on tree stands using drones.

For our own and clients' needs, mobile and desktop applications are created, and Internet services using the latest trends in information technology. Our best-known solution is the mBDL application for mobile devices, available to the public and providing resources from the Forest Data Bank.
