Management planning
Simplified forest management plans
The simplified forest management plans (abbreviated in Polish to UPUL) and forest condition inventories are prepared for forests not owned by the State Treasury and for forests constituting a part of the Agricultural Property Resource of the State Treasury. The plans are drawn up in a simplified version according to the same principles as applied in forest management of the State Forests.
While forest management plans and simplified forest management plans for forests forming part of the Agricultural Property Resource of the State Treasury are approved and supervised by the Minister responsible for the environment, the simplified forest management plans for land not owned by the State Treasury are approved by the county (poviat) mayor, who also supervises their implementation.
The simplified forest management plans and forest condition inventories are prepared on the legal basis of the following:
- Forest Act of 28 September 1991 (consolidated text of 10 March 2022, Journal of Laws 2022 No. 672), Chapter 4, Articles 18–25;
- Regulation of the Minister of the Environment of 12 November 2012 on detailed conditions and procedures for drawing up a forest management plan, simplified forest management plan, and inventory of forest condition (Journal of Laws 2012/1302).
The Bureau for Forest Management and Geodesy prepares a simplified forest management plan at the request of an interested party. You are welcome to contact the relevant branch office here.
